Sondra Slivon |
| Sondra Slivon currently works as the Research and Staff Development Manager at National Geographic School Publishing, an educational publisher that specializes in Bilingual, English as Second Language and Literacy programs. In addition to a background in marketing and sales, Sondra has over eight years of classroom experience in the United States and Mexico, working with English language learners in both bilingual and mainstream settings and focusing on literacy. She is a graduate of Duke University, earned a Master’s of Arts in Teaching form National Louis University in Evanston, Illinois, and did advanced graduate work in the area of ESL and Bilingual Education at the University of Colorado at Denver. In her role as Research and Staff Development Manager, Sondra has created and conducted professional sessions designed to help educators ensure that English Learners and struggling students develop the language and literacy skills they need to succeed. Helping young children, both educationally and personally, has been and will continue to be an important area of focus for Ms. Slivon. Sondra lives in San Antonio, Texas. |
